You’ve filled out all of the online applications for a new job, sent over a resume and you’re invited for an interview. The interview goes brilliantly, they’re impressed with your experience and you get along well. A couple of weeks later, a letter lands on the doorstep and you open it. It’s a job offer!

Okay, in today’s world, you’d most likely be receiving your offer in your inbox!

But for some reason, you’re not sure how to feel about it. You know that you should be over the moon but there’s something bothering you. This happens to a lot of people and it’s because they don’t really know if the job is right for them. Even if a job seems perfect on the face of it, there are always things that might bother you.

It’s a tough position to be in, especially if your current job isn’t too bad. It’s not the best job in the world but it’s fine for now, do you really want to risk leaving for a job that might be wrong for you? On the other hand, if you don’t take that risk and accept the new job, you might be missing out on a great opportunity to further your career, so what are you supposed to do?

Tips On How To Grow Your Side Hustle As A Full-Time Worker

Many workers are starting to see reasons why they should have a side hustle. As a result, this is now the ‘gig economy’. Having another means of income can be beneficial for a number of reasons, however, this is not something that every employee must venture into.

You need to be certain it’s something you are comfortable with. Otherwise, let it remain a hobby as running a business however small is no easy feat!

It’s a way of reducing your dependency on your main source of income (i.e. a backup plan for your life or career). A side hustle is also one way of reaching financial freedom, as you are able to increase your residual income most especially if your full-time income isn’t good enough.

How To Make Your Work Experience Count: To Study Or Not?

Every experience we go through in life is a lesson and no matter how much we may think there might have been some mistakes somewhere, it shouldn’t be seen that way. This is a lesson I have learned time and over again.

Career growth and planning has fascinated me for the most part of my life. One question I often receive is: “Zinny, I am about to immigrate, should I study or just find a job?”

The next question I most likely ask is: “what would you want to do career wise? Do you want to go ahead practicing what you already do in your home country or would you rather change career?”

Whatever your answer to that question is should help determine next steps. However, from my discussion with some readers who ask me this question, I have realized that most aren’t necessarily sure what they want to do next and even if they want a career change, they aren’t sure how to go about it and how to gain or grow work experience.

If your job is making you miserable, then this might sound like a typical thing that most people have to put up with from time to time.

But, a job has the potential to affect many parts of your life negatively, as it is like a dark shadow that dominates your life. You talk about it with friends, partners, and even kids – it can consume you – and it can certainly bring you down.

We saw a movie a few days ago. Long story short, the lead role quit her job because she wanted to start thinking outside the box for a while. This is a valid reason but it was so dramatic as with most movies.

How To Emotionally Prepare For Colder Months As A Worker

The weather is gradually changing and even though I’m not all for it, I realize that nature will take its course. For the time being, I’m still enjoying the weather and rocking lighter clothes while it lasts!

I have a colleague who is in love with Winter and loves it when it snows! Alright, to be fair, it’s usually much warmer when it snows anyway. However, if you are like me, who isn’t in love with colder months then you have to emotionally brace yourself up for what is to come.

Confession time: I don’t like that I have to layer up in countless clothes so that I feel somewhat warm. Or that after I’ve worn hundreds of clothes, I feel heavy and it takes so much time! I certainly don’t like the wind and freezing rain and never enjoyed the days when I had to shovel snow.

Pheeeew! It felt good to clear that out.
