Not Everybody Likes Their Routine

When most people think of a routine, they imagine the typical girl from a positive lifestyle article in a woman’s magazine. She’s slim and healthy, laughing at a joke that nobody will ever know while eating a green salad. Or maybe she’s showing off her widest grin on her way to the gym – back from the gym; it’s hard to tell, girls in magazines don’t seem to sweat when they exercise. In other words, you already know that routine for this girl, and her readers mean freedom, health, fun, and the perfect figure.

But for some people, a routine is the last thing they want to keep in their days. Routine is hell, and they hate it. If you sometimes roll your eyes when you stumble across the laughing girl and her salad in a magazine, you probably have already questioned the advantages of your routine. If you fear the work routine, this article is for you.

How To Find A Mentor: 5 Practical Tips

In a previous article, I talked about how mentorship has been helpful in my career journey. Naturally, the next thing should be to discuss how you can actually find a mentor. So in this article, we’ll dive even further while being realistic.

Basically, where do you find one? How does it even begin? Are you just supposed to go out there, discover some outspoken person and demand that he/ she become your mentor? Is this even a logical way to go about this?

A lot of times, we hear that you must have a mentor, everyone out there seems to be scouting for a mentor. I mean, in the last post, I argued for the case of mentorship and the fact that it has helped me. If that’s the case, why wouldn’t you want to find a mentor, right?

10 Things You Must Avoid in Front of Your Manager

Multiple global studies have revealed that 79% of people who quit their jobs mark “lack of appreciation” as the main reason for the switch or because of a bad manager. When your work isn’t cherished, you don’t feel the motivation to perform to the best of your abilities. But it is actually quite difficult to keep your managers happy and satisfied with your performance.

It is hard for the employees to realize the toughness of a manager’s duty. This is because they are unaware of the challenges which these managers encounter on a day-to-day basis. By realizing what it’s like to be a manager, you can actually be more valuable to him than a burden.

If you are inclined to make the life of your manager easier and wish to score a good reputation in his eyes, here are some of the things which you must not do in front of him.

Your Support Will Make Your Partner’s Career Soar

Apart from your support to book a trip to Paris for two. A private tour of the Eiffel Tower and tickets to see a crazy-amazing burlesque performance in Moulin Rouge, one of the most romantic gestures any spouse, partner or significant lover can make is a show of support for the other person’s career.

That’s all it takes. And Calvin Harris is proof of this, something he showed to his (then) girlfriend, Tay-Tay Swift,  when he sent a tweet to his six million followers to congratulate her on the industry-altering victory she had over Apple.

5 Obvious Signs Your Boss Cares About You

These days, you can feel lucky if you have a job and can see signs that show your employer cares. The market has been in such a state that unemployment has been at an all-time high, meaning that often time, any job is often better than no job at all.

Feeling like you should be grateful for your job is wonderful unless your employer uses that feeling to take advantage of you, of course. Your relationship with your boss is going to be a critical factor in deciding whether you are happy at your place of work and whether your career is successful.

The Workaholic Series: The Worst Ever Work Stress & Quarrel James Has Ever Encountered

James is on his way back from work. He can certainly feel today’s work stress. He isn’t listening to the radio this time around. He’s listening to a podcast he loves the most. He had always been of the opinion that it’s calming and listened often.

He increases the volume. It’s just at the perfect level for his hearing pleasure. Today he isn’t driving with his wife, Kathy. She had a doctor’s appointment and had informed him this morning that she will be going straight home afterward.

That Love-Hate Relationship of the 9-5

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I don’t understand the whole concept of the 9-5 life too. I’m like, who the hell thought this was worth it? How did they come to accept this?

Whoever the ‘they’ is or are.

How was this even the drill and how does it continue to be?

Don’t ever think I’ve got it all figured out. For Christ’s sake, I’m a millennial and I figure the whole ‘misconception’ applies to me too. Millennials can’t sit still. Millennials are impatient. Millennials this. Millennials that.

4 Doable Ways to Balance your Work/ Job and Relationships

When I decided to blog about balancing your work schedule with relationships of any form, I thought I was going to be the first person to write on it.

Or at least, one of the first few.

I thought to blog lightly in today’s post and discuss on more practical issues that affect most workers just as I did in my last video. Check out my video here.

As expected, the internet proved me wrong.

A little google research reminded me that there’s nothing new under the sun. Good news— everyone has a different take on the topic and that’s good enough for me!

So here’s me, giving you my two cents on this issue.
