Book Review: The Obstacle is The Way by Ryan Holiday

In this article, I’ll review The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday. However, before I begin since this is my first book review, I’ll have to start by giving credit to my mother who thought it wise to take me along with her to the library when I was around 8 years or so.

At the time, she was studying for her masters. This little act has helped shape my life when it comes to areas of self-development even though at the time I was reading Barbie stories.

Even before her rigorous studying days/ months, my mother encouraged active reading by making us exchange books and then we’ll recommend books to each other. She and my father also created a mini-library in our house and I think all these fostered a reading culture in me.

Learning About Life When Working Abroad

Somethings in life are not for everyone. That has to be the caveat I’ll start with because hurling yourself into a new job in a new country that is saturated with new cultures and ways of doing things is not everyone’s mug of Earl Grey.

It can’t be.

But for those that have decided this is the route they want to go, wow, it is one of the most amazing ways of boosting your career and one of the most exciting ways to grow as a person.

Having the right attitude may only be part of it, but it’s definitely the foundation you need in order to make a success of your decision, especially when you hit that three-month wall.

Getting Started

The Workaholic Series (Jane’s Career Evolves): Are you Currently Practicing what you didn’t Study in School?!

Her career path as well as what to study was set as long as she was concerned and she will thread on this adventurous thrilling journey. It was in the year 2001 that Jane got admitted into one of the country’s arguably best university.

As many Christian families will do, her parents called her aside for a family prayer when the day eventually came for her to leave for school. She was going to reside in the hostel, so as every caring parent would react, they were a bit worried.

“Remember the child of whom you are.” her mother said, before a prayer that seemed to last forever.

You know what’s funny? I’ve had this post drafted for some time and I was going to publish it last week Friday, but I hesitated. One of the reasons is because I don’t necessarily publish posts on Fridays if you’ve noticed.

I’m working towards sticking to a schedule, but of course, I understand that things may change every once in a while and it may be affected. Also, I don’t want to put out too much content so much that you barely have enough time to absorb it.
