Free Up Your Mind To Be More Productive

Sometimes you just need to free up your mind, think about nothing, and just relax. But how often do we get to do this, seriously? Our mind is never free, simply because we’re always so busy thinking about the next thing. As soon as we wake up, we’re thinking about the terrible day at work we’re about to have especially if there is a tight deadline for you.

Then we’re thinking about the house that we’re going to have to come home to clean. Then we’re thinking about the prep that we’re going to have to do for the next morning, just so that we’re not rushing around in the morning.

Now, that’s just thinking about what we actually have to do in a day. That does not account for all of the wild thoughts that are running through our minds, every single day. The thoughts of random scenarios, holiday’s, relationship problems. It’s just one constant monologue in our minds, and it seems almost impossible to shut it out. But that’s only because you’re seriously not trying.

How To Use Social Media To Improve Your Mental Health

Towards the end of last year, it became clear it will be a good idea to detach from anything that seemed stressful which included, social media. When I started blogging, the intent was to share content with others whose ideas resonated with mine – most especially workplace issues.

Overtime, to get people to read my content I had to promote it via social media. At the time, my interpretation of this meant that I had to do the things I enjoyed doing but in a more aggressive way.

Book Review: The Obstacle is The Way by Ryan Holiday

In this article, I’ll review The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday. However, before I begin since this is my first book review, I’ll have to start by giving credit to my mother who thought it wise to take me along with her to the library when I was around 8 years or so.

At the time, she was studying for her masters. This little act has helped shape my life when it comes to areas of self-development even though at the time I was reading Barbie stories.

Even before her rigorous studying days/ months, my mother encouraged active reading by making us exchange books and then we’ll recommend books to each other. She and my father also created a mini-library in our house and I think all these fostered a reading culture in me.

AnthroDesk Standing Desk: Living A Healthy Lifestyle As A Worker

Have you considered getting a standing desk? Especially if you often complain about a backache when you are at work. Do you sit for too long when working? It doesn’t even have to be at work alone.

For me who works a 9-5 as well as work on my side hustles, I find I’m tempted to work for too long on my laptop/ desk. One of the reasons, I love my wedding photography career or side hustle is because it affords me the opportunity to move around.

But these are some of the downsides of earning a living. Depending on the type of job you do, you might be sitting for too long or standing excessively. It’s left for us to make the right decisions to live a healthier life.

The Psychology of Hair and Self-Confidence + The Elite Hair Company

I’ve partnered with The Elite Hair Company to ask this question: “does the appearance of your hair have an impact on your level of confidence?” I’ve asked myself this question a number of times and I seem to agree that it does.

Certain ways to boost your level of confidence if you lack one have been discussed in the past. But let me share a quick story.

When I was much younger, around age five to ten, I was a really smart kid. Free and happy to share ideas. I asked a lot of questions too− those type of questions that became tiresome to most parents!

It was all well and good until I went to high school and my level of confidence reduced drastically.

Affordable Workplace Fashion With NewChic

Dressing up for work or anywhere, in particular, has always been something quite tricky for me. Most especially because I don’t take fashion too seriously. I love to look good in a simple way and I will always choose a dress over anything else but I really never put so much stress on fashion.

Because of the weather here in Canada, it can get quite scary wearing dresses or skirts during winter which is what I feel most comfortable on. Also, my present job requires more of business casual, so I’m so relaxed about my work outfit.

Giveaway: I Partnered with Caseapp (Win a Phone case or Laptop Skin)

If you’re being completely honest with me, I’m sure you’ve rolled your eyes a number of times giving the number of phone-inspired posts I’ve been publishing lately.

Let me refresh your memory with these two: there’s the one about no more phone distractions and a recent one that touches the topic of having phone phobia at work and how to overcome it. Then we created a short movie that talked about our addiction to phones.

I’ve been dwelling on this because the invention of the internet, social media, and phones.. oh, I mean, smartphones have really changed a lot of things in the world as we know it today.
