Best Companies Places Work Canada Glassdoor 2019 - Zinny Factor

There are a number of lists/rankings on best companies for an industry, country or province. You’d often question the methodology at which the results were reached. Some of these ratings are based on revenue and profitability of the company, employee feedback through anonymous surveys, the culture of the company, etc.

Whatever criteria are used to decide which are the best companies is simply intriguing and exciting to see. For the most part, many people who visit our career blog are typically career shifters, graduates or immigrants new to the workforce and we believe that it’s a good thing to share some of these resources so that you can have this knowledge as well as make an informed decision when selecting a company of choice.

The labor markets across the globe have been very competitive and also in Canada. The unemployment rate increased by 0.2 percentage points to 5.7% as more people searched for work. A small difference from 5.6% in comparison to the unemployment rate in November 2018, which was the lowest it has been in more than four decades. This means that companies have to stay competitive in order to attract and retain staff.

On many occasions, recruiters often express how challenging retaining top talent has been lately as a result of this. This has necessarily resulted in companies improving their work culture to ensure that employees are happy and feel productive.

On many occasions, candidates would make a decision of whether or not to attend an interview-based of off the review by employees, including candidates who have been interviewed in the past. This largely explains the power in the hands of employees in today’s modern workplace.
