Giveaway: I Partnered with JORD Wood Watches!!

A few weeks ago, I logged into my customer account and checked my pending orders; the wristwatch, which I had ordered four weeks back, was yet to arrive. For a minute, I panicked. Now, this is a true story!

Prior to that, I had never had any reasons whatsoever to request a refund or start a dispute, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. For privacy reasons, I’ll withhold the name of this international company. Also, I’ve had quite a lot of positive shopping experiences with this company, so no hard feelings.

The Workaholic Series: Jane’s Early Morning Traffic to Work

For a while, I’ve been looking to start this segment on the blog. I’m so excited to share with you: The Workaholic Series. I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I’ve enjoyed creating and planning this segment.

On what to expect, you’ll have the opportunity to read relatable stories on the life of workers. There’ll be hilarious stories, serious ones and from time to time you can expect one or two jokes.

This segment will have more of story telling depicting reality in a bid to juxtapose life in diverse settings. Please bear in mind that most of these stories will be fictitious. Where otherwise, I’ll be glad to state so.

I’ve always wanted to do this and I’m so excited to get the ball rolling. I hope you enjoy!

Setting Up A Safe Workplace

The workplace. We both love and hate it, depending on the day, but a lot of work goes into it. There’s a lot of elements to the business model: buying and selling, hiring employees, conducting pay cuts and rises, and then there’s the health and safety part of proceedings.

Safety in the workplace is one of our main priorities. If we can’t make sure that employees are safe whilst conducting business, then we shouldn’t have a business! Here’s a few ideas you may not have picked up on that can help make a healthy working environment more of a reality for you.

DIY | Personal Finance | Natural Hair

A few years ago I transitioned to natural hair for several reasons. One of the best parts is having to take care of my hair myself. This has helped me save money and improved my personal finance (at least in the aspect of hair care).

I can’t say it’s been extremely easy to make my hair myself, but in this video, I have shared my tips on how I’m able to do this.

Disclaimer:
DIY is not for everyone depending on how busy your schedule is. It’s okay to visit the salon once in a while (those are professionals), but if you want to live within a budget as a worker, then you should be willing to do some things yourself once in a while.

I hope this video inspires you and I hope you enjoy watching. Let me know in the comment section whether you make your hair yourself. What other thing do you do yourself?

How to Support a Colleague while Respecting their Privacy

A few days ago, I had an interesting chat with a colleague and we really talked about the workplace and respecting privacy. No doubt, maybe because I’ve been blogging about the workplace for quite some time, such conversations seem to interest me.

Most workers are lucky to have found true friendships with co-workers. All the same, one must remember to treat the workplace as such and not get carried away with growing friendship, especially, so that you don’t feel somewhat disappointed when you notice the slightest hint of competition at a later date.

Generally speaking, it’s not uncommon for colleagues to grow great bond and fondness especially if they share similar views and opinion to certain areas of interest. And let’s not forget that most workers spend an average of thirty-five hours a week at their various workplaces.

4 Celebrities who Drastically Changed their Career (They are Inspiring!)

Celebrities are loved. That’s why they are famous and I have some celebrities that inspire me. Don’t you?

So many times I sit still and just think! I don’t think that’s creepy if you think it is anyway. Since I started blogging, I’ve had a handful of time to sit and try to be creative. I guess that’s what creatives do.

And many times I wonder what it’s like for other people who might have changed careers.

Since changing my career from law to human resources, I’ve also been able to add creative, blogger and writer as some professions of mine. Isn’t that cool?

And I’ve also thought of what it’s felt like for other people who aren’t ‘professionals’ but still have a career they build.

Jackline: Nurse Practitioner & Personal Style Blogger

In this feature, Jackline shares useful information on personal style at work. We had planned to have this interview for a while but our schedules kept conflicting. We later did have a chat and I’m so excited to share it with you.

It’s a small world really because I later bumped into Jackline at a place I would never have imagined. Let’s just say I went somewhere I wouldn’t have normally visited and there was this inspiring woman!

Do You Look Forward to Fridays?: Living a Well-Rounded Life

This week has been the longest, true story!

I thought to update the inspiration category of the blog as it’s been a while since I last did that. I recall publishing something quite similar here.

You know what’s funny? I’ve had this post drafted for some time and I was going to publish it last week Friday, but I hesitated. One of the reasons is because I don’t necessarily publish posts on Fridays if you’ve noticed.

I’m working towards sticking to a schedule, but of course, I understand that things may change every once in a while and it may be affected. Also, I don’t want to put out too much content so much that you barely have enough time to absorb it.
