How to keep your customers happy

Every business will have their opinions on what matters the most in the day to day running of their operations. Some will say profit, others will say traffic, and then there are those that will always prioritize customer satisfaction.

And it’s those guys that are going to go far! Why? Because businesses might be about making money, but if you’ve not got happy customers, you’re never going to be able to make as much money as you’d like.

But when you focus on customer satisfaction and making sure that your customers are taken care of, then you know you’ll see success. But, how can you make sure that happens?

Know What They Want

First up, you’re going to want to make sure you know exactly what your customers want. Think you already do? Then you probably don’t! That’s right, and it can sound a little harsh, but being the know it all in this situation isn’t a good thing.

Your customers’ needs are probably always changing, and just when you think you know what they want, they’ll ahead on change on you. So you have to be constantly doing research and trying to get to know your customers to ensure that your business is serving them well.

Which reminds me to prepare another survey for my readers this year.

Ask For Feedback

A huge part of that research is going to be asking them for feedback. Because what could be a better way to find out how to make your customers happy (and even get to know whether you are making them happy or not) is just to ask them.

Feedback can be scary. You can be scared to put yourself out there and ask for it, and scared to receive it. But it’s essential to making sure you’re on track and then making changes going forwards if you’re not.

Monitor Your Service

So you have to be constantly looking to improve. One of the best ways to make sure you can is to monitor your customer service. With observations in stores and even something like Sage Advantage quality monitoring for your call centers, you should be able to make this work.

Because you need to be able to assess what you’re doing in order to make improvements going forward.

Track Their Actions

One thing that you’re also going to want to work on if you have an online presence, is your analytics.

Because you can seriously do a lot of awesome things with Google Analytics that can help you to improve your business and better serve your customers. Just read this, and you’ll be ready to see results yourself.

Go Above And Beyond

And above all else, you have to be willing to go above and beyond at all times. Period. If you want your customers to be happy, you need to work hard to make it happen.

No half-hearted efforts are allowed. Whether that’s surprising them with offers or free gifts, or just going the extra mile to make sure they get the service they deserve. By putting your customer at the heart of what you do, they’re always going to be happy.
