Communicating with Dami: Cyber Security Specialist, DJ & Lecturer!

Communicating with Dami was interesting and inspiring. I’ve known him for some time but I’ve never really had these deep discussions, so this was great to do.

No Motivation to Go to Work? Find it Here (Easy Peasy!)

Everyone loves to talk about how they lack motivation on their jobs. Okay, not everyone, but almost everyone.

Sometimes, I think some workers have become so used to complaining  so much that they don’t realize that it’s become the norm. Like, one can even hear their thoughts.

In a previous article, I discussed how to discover if you lack motivation, because I was of the opinion that that was the first step to take. But, I also feel that inspiration has a way of influencing motivation.

That explains why I started out the inspiration category on the blog. I was of the opinion that we all need something or someone to inspire us to seek out the best in life, which of course, would include our jobs!

Does Culture Affect Your Writing or Communication at Work?

Before I relocated, I was the type that would send a casual email, write or communicate in this format:

“Dear Sir/ Ma,

I hope this email finds you well?

I am sending this email because I am….”

And then, of course, I’d end the email with a “Yours sincerely”. Actually, I think I frequently used “Best regards” Haha!

Did you notice that there was no form of abbreviation or nada?! I’d read and re-read my email to be sure that I had made no errors and to ensure that the email depicted me to be a formal person.

Maybe it was the culture, now that I think of it.

Want to feel More Appreciated & Valued at Work? Here is How!

You go to work happy. Do everything within your power to meet the end of your bargain – do your job!

And your boss or employer never deems it fit to acknowledge your hard work and input.

This is not to say that you are carrying out your job because you hope to be rewarded or praised. I think as humans we just want to feel appreciated.

We want someone to notice that we put in some time to make some achievements.

I get it.

You get it!

Finally, no more Phone Distractions at Work!

I’m sure when you saw the blog title, you rolled your eyes because you are most likely reading this post on your phone.

But, please hold on. What I mean is phone distractions at work…during work hours, especially when you are working on a tight schedule but your phone won’t let you be.

I used to think I wasn’t a phone addict.

I was wrong.

Although I don’t think I’m addicted to my phone since I barely have people calling me. I’m sort of addicted to the social media apps in it. I keep refreshing my phone for updates even when it’s unnecessary.
